IT solutions

As an IT company, Komin Ltd. has developed over the period of its operation more than 10 unique copyrighted information systems for the management, supervision and control of software products and documents. These systems have been introduced and are still run by many enterprises, institutions, specialised strategic and state divisions (including those subordinated to the Ministry of Finance and the State Revenue Service) all over Latvia.

From the start of its business activities, document flow automation and control over customs and tax matters has been the principal field of specialisation of Komin Ltd in the development of IT software. This includes the development and introduction of such systems, training users and providing successive servicing and consulting in relation to software usage as well as tax and customs matters.

Major software products:

Eiro_Krava [Euro_Cargo]

One of the first automated document flow management systems developed by Komin Ltd. and introduced in Latvia, this is the most popular and the most widely sold software. The software was developed in 1992 as product of Komin Ltd.; it is distributed commercially. The system is designed for the preparation and printout of the uniform administrative document (the customs declaration) and submission thereof to the customs authority as well as for the preparation of various statements in print and electronically (for submission to the Central Statistics Board). The software was initially conceived for the needs of customs brokers, transport companies and customs warehouses. Later on the software was procured by state authorities for introduction in divisions of the Customs Board and the State Border Guard. Thanks to continuous upgrading of the software in line with changes in the legislation, development of operation systems and requirements for document processing, the system is still being used today in all Latvian customs border checkpoints as well as by the State Revenue Service, Customs divisions and private enterprises.

The software is designed to assist in receiving regular cargo clearance, filling in declarations, co-ordinating and calculating state duties and taxes and it is used in nearly all import and export operations carried out in the territory of the Latvian state.

Data document input and processing system:
a system of software products and databases for the Sanitary Inspection of the Latvian Ministry of Agriculture (2001-2007)

The system consists of a chain of several functional independent document and information processing modules. The system is designed to record, analyse and control information flows of strategic national importance and it provides for the co-ordination, classification and storage of such information. The system is used to register and process the following documents and related documentation and information flows:

  • Border control document certifying compliance of goods to safety and reliability requirements

    Personnel selection and recruitment

Our specialists carry out the classic personnel selection activities and undertake full responsibility for the personnel selection process, starting from team analysis and approaching proper candidates up to the evaluation of the best candidates. At the end of the selection process, the client is offered three to four best candidates that have been interviewed, analysed, compared and tested comprehensively. Work organisation, correspondence with candidates, selection, verification of recommendations and communication with the candidates is carried out solely by employees of Komin Ltd. The client only has to make his/her choice by selecting the new employee from the best candidates available, based on the results of our analysis and individual evaluation of candidates. The selection process enables the client to save time and to entrust the task to professionals familiar with the market and extensively experienced in personnel selection. Moreover, we provide a guarantee for each candidate selected using MPS methodology, which is not insignificant. If the new employee fails to meet the employer's requirements or is unable to cope with his/her duties, we select and provide another candidate instead.

    Personnel evaluation

The daily operation of any company consists of various activities, decisions and choices made by its employees, which is essentially the basis of the results achieved. Good results are achieved if every member of the team acts efficiently towards the common goal. Who is to stay and who unfortunately has to go are questions that the company management is often faced with. We provide to the client an opportunity to make an optimal choice. Our specialists help evaluate whether employees meet the requirements set for their position in the company and their ability to work as a team in cases where the company is on the eve of structural changes.

    Outplacement

The Outplacement service is designed for:

    • Companies that are planning downsizing or wish to train and prepare their employees for possible changes in their work life
    • Individuals that are forced to change their job due to objective or subjective reasons, and possibly, also the nature of their job

Outplacement is based on a special training methodology. By working side to side with a Komin consultant and other professionals, the client (an individual) learns and develops all the required skills and obtains the information necessary to find during the programme a new job which best suits his/her true wishes and skills and corresponds to the options available on the job market.
This service helps companies and enterprises (Clients) to provide additional social protection for their employees, prevents bitterness on the part of employees in case of dismissal, forms a positive company image and instils corporative trust in the employees.
The service helps an individual employee (Client) to deal with the period of crisis following the dismissal from employment, to acquire knowledge and experience of use in future, and finally to find a new job.
